I added a colour gradient to the text box in the bottom left hand corner, I also changed the opacity of it to make it look less bland.

I’ve added a price which is essential on a magazine like a bar code, issue number and date. I moved the issue number and date up near the title, as I felt it belonged there more, it was also nearer the title in the magazines I researched.

I changed the colour of  ‘Also in this Issue’ to alow it to stand out more so the reader can tell it is the title of the article, it also draws attention to it as it is only in a small font so that it will fit into the mechanical looking background.

To the ‘Aerosmith’ article I added a bigger title as it is the main story, the magazines I researched had big titles on their main articles. However I’m not happy with the font and colour, I believe it makes it too childish and so doesn’t fit into the mechanical feel of the magazine. I will change this to something more hardened – maybe a digital looking font.

I added more of the mechanical background to fill out the background, also adding the use of colour to the cover makes it look a lot less sterile which it was looking lie before.

I may also add a gear or a cog to the cover to show that the mechanical feel is deliberate and that, that is the style I’m trying to create.

I’ve added colour to the title and changed the colour of the slogan and changed the postion of it. I’ve added extra text which I’ve incorporated it into the background like the other text. I played around with the box in the bottom left, adding a gradient, and embossing the box plus adding glows. I also lightened the text circle, however I’m thinking of changing it or getting rid of it completely as I’m not sure it goes.

 I moved some of the text around so that all of the text isn’t on one side. I added a barcode, price and issue, the prica and issue I encorprated into the background effect. I added a text circle and added a slogan. I have also cleaned up some of the picture from when I cut it into the picture and it was rather messy; I still have some cleaning up left to do but other than that what I have to do is sort out the title and make the magazine cover look less sterile as it. kind of looks that way at the moment.

I’ve changed the fonts on my cover and the title plus some of the other wording has been changed.

I’ve added text now to the magazine, this text will probably change, as I don’t think the font suits the type of magazine that i’m trying to create.

I started editing a photo for my front cover of my music magazine. This is how far i’ve got so far. The effect around the model is deliberate.

I took some music magazine photos, of a girl rock star and her band. Below are the photos for the cover page, they are pictures of a single rock star, I’ve decided to use a girl rock band as it is quite original and different. These are a selection of the photos i’m thinking of showing. These were taken horizontally, however I will rotate them and make them vertical.

The first contents page is basic but effective. For a music magazine,  I could possibly change t to a microphone dangling on a wire, or a flute, if I were to do a classical magazine. As i’m doing a rock music magazine, i may be interested in using an electric guitar. This wouldn’t relate to my front cover, (as that includes a picture of a band with their instruments),  so I would have to use the same colour scheme as the front cover.

The second one is good as they play around with the font, trying different things, they also have the magazine at a jaunty angle.

This is my final version of my magazine for students. I will now place my two magazine covers in the new N Drive, so they can be printed.

So far in my poll, Queen has won so I will keep that in mind when I do my photo shoot with Jame’s band. I will have the lead singer with a microphone as seen below and maybe one the guitarist with a guitar.
